So, I have to start off by saying I love stories involving the OSS, the predecessor to the CIA. It was seriously important during WWII. When I had the chance to read Massawa, I of course, had to do it. And here we are.
The characters are great. I like the fact that a woman takes a major role this time. That being Kit Thomas. I’ve read OSS stories in the past, you may have heard of John Gardner and his books involving the organisation. Well, if you liked those, you’ll like Massawa. And that’s as high praise I can give any book. He’s my favorite author.
Pam Webber gives you a story filled with imagery to help submerse you in WWII North Africa. Giving you a story based around true events. I like such stories as they then send me on a search for more information. Honestly, if a book such as this didn’t do that for me, then it just hit wrong. This one didn’t misfire.
