#Easypromo. Sharing the preview of a book directly in your blog or page
Hi all:
I suspect many of you will have come across this already, but just in case you haven’t, or you want to see exactly how it works, I thought I’d bring it to you.
You know that Amazon offers readers (and window-shoppers) de option of looking inside a book or getting a sample of the book sent to their own reader or computer (wherever they access their Kindle reader, that is a free app). But before, if you wanted to share that with your readers in your blog, or one of your pages, you’d have to include the link, and they’ll be redirected to Amazon from there and then they’ll have to proceed from there.
Now, there’s the option of sharing it directly in your site.
It’s easy, as I show you in this video:
I leave you the link here (by the way, I think it might depend on the theme of the blog, as I’ve tried it in my page and it appears directly there but it doesn’t seem to here):
I am a language teacher, writer, bookworm, and collaborator at Sants 3 Ràdio (a local radio station in Barcelona, where I returned in 2018), who lived in the UK for 25 years and worked for many years as a forensic psychiatrist there. I also have a Ph.D. in American Literature and an MSc in Criminology. I started publishing my stories, in English and Spanish, in 2012 and now have over twenty books available in a variety of genres, a blog (in English and Spanish), and translate books for other authors (English-Spanish and vice versa). In 2020 obtained the CELTA certificate as a language teacher, and offer Spanish and English classes. Writers and readers both in English and Spanish are my friends, colleagues, and allies, and after living in the UK for over twenty-five years, have returned home, to Barcelona, Spain, searching for inspiration for my stories. I also love owls and try to keep fit following fitness YouTube videos.

now I know what that ’embed’ button does! Thanks Olga…
Thanks so much. It also works for things like You Tube videos. If you try the share there’s the option to embed the video too… It’s trial and error (a lot of errors) 🙂
Oh… I should do this. 🙂 There are so many things I should do… 😦
One day at a time. Thank you for sharing this Olga. I really, really should do this. Mega hugs.
This one is a quick one, and you can just add it to any post where you mention your book or anybody else’s. It takes the same amount of time as going to Amazon to get a link… 🙂 I agree about so many things to do, though. I was talking to somebody about advertisements. Goodness!
With my job, I still (even after 2 years) have to look at it as my “grand experiment in Indie”… So I try to only do things that are free or that I can do myself. I’ve done a couple of ads, but they were really meant to be as charity for schools who were selling ad space in their theater program booklets. Onward to the office! Hugs.
Hi, Olga,
Well, I have tried it, and it half works for me. The link appears and, when clicked, it takes me to the preview. But the image of the book does not appear to show up on my blog. My blog is an author blog, so I don’t think it’s to do with the subject matter. Any suggestions?
I’m pleased the link works anyway, though.
Thanks,
Christine
I have the same results, Christine, by using either the URL or the Embed, with and without clicking on the WordPress “LINK” add function: all it does it show the code, which I removed since it didn’t work to show the preview/look inside cover or anything graphic.
Yes, it partly worked on mine, in that if you clicked on the link it went to the preview, but it would have been nice for it to show on the post properly.
It does work perfectly well in mine… If you want to have a look http://www.authortranslatorolga.com Not sure if that’s because it’s WordPress.org, but I’ve seen it work in other places
In mine it works fine, of course using the text or html option in the blog. If you want to use the link there are two options there. But in my blog it seems to work as it should: http://www.authortranslatorolga.com
I’m not sure why it works in my blog but not in this one, for instance, although my new blog is WordPress.org rather than WordPress.com. I must admit that some of the other links that they create in Amazon don’t seem to work at all. It would always be possible to just add the image and then the link under it if that works…
Check how this one looks, for example: http://authortranslatorolga.com/2016/02/05/bookreview-for-rbrt-planting-the-seeds-of-love-a-novella-nnp_w_light/

Thank you for this information, Olga. I should try this on my blog. It would really help when I promote other authors, or my own books.

Yes, I think that might be the way to go – the image first, then the link. Thanks.
